CHIRPS: Rainfall Estimates from Rain Gauge and Satellite Observations
Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station data (CHIRPS) is a quasi-global rainfall data collection that spans 35 years. From 1981 until the near-present, it spans 50°S-50°N (and all longitudes). With a spatial resolution of 0.05° daily, pentad and monthly precipitation datasets are available. CHIRPS was developed in partnership with USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center scientists to provide thorough, accurate, and up-to-date data sets for a variety of early warning goals, including trend analysis and seasonal drought monitoring.Description :
